The loss of Robert "Red" Davis is a tremendous loss to us here on the central coast. Red was a founding member of the San Luis Obispo Bicycle Coalition, now known as Bike SLO County, and served the cycling community by volunteering for and serving as president of the board of the San Luis Obispo Bicycle Club and served ten years on the SLO County Bicycle Advisory Committee. Red also served in a wide number of state and municipal agencies, including two terms as a city council member in the City of Morro Bay. We in the cycling community are saddened by the loss of Red and offer condolences to his family and a wide circle of friends and acquaintances who will remember the genuine man, genuine smile, and good heart whose positive impact is felt well and broadly.
